My CrossFit journey started last year at CrossFit Cheshire from July-Sept. I immediately fell in love with the workouts and the amount of work needed to complete a WOD. It reminded me of my active duty days in the Army where I learned the never quit attitude. Unfortunately after I purchased my home and my shift at work changed, I could no longer attend that box. After the holidays I was determined to find a new home for CrossFit and get started again.
Since starting at CFW in early spring, my life has changed tremendously for the positive. I’ve never experienced a gym/box where so many different people come together to sweat, bleed, cry, collapse, and help each other become better people inside and out. I’ve met some wonderful people here, have made special friends, and also found the love of my life as well.
I served our country for 8 years and have been lifting weights since I was 15 (freshman football). I’ve been around many leaders and countless coaches, but never like the 2 coaches we all share at CFW. Rob and Ron always know what makes each one of us tick and how to push us out of our own comfort zone so we can get the best results. They watch us closely and never let us cheat ourselves out of doing the movements correctly. There is an amazing level of caring, commitment, and involvement that both of them deliver to all of us…it’s awesome!
I’m truly honored to have the privilege of being named CrossFitter of the Month. I am so thankful for everyone I have met at all the different WOD times because it’s all of you that continue to inspire me and keep me coming back to push harder and compete at a higher level each and every month. I love our box, our coaches, and the community that has been created at CFW! I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else or body changing with any other people. We all rock!
Congrats to Tom, who is truly a pleasure to have at Crossfit Wallingford. Tom has made huge gains in the past few months, but that is not the only reason he is CrossFitter of the month. Tom always comes in motivated and ready to push himself. He has a positive attitude and helps others at the end of a grueling WOD. This is well deserved and we are proud to have Tom as an athlete at CFW.
