**CONGRATULATIONS MIKE CUNNINGHAM! Our September CrossFitter of the Month!**
About Mike:
Those are pictures of me before Crossfit when I was hovering around 240lbs and after Crossfit hovering around 200. People watch the CF Games and think oh that’s not for me, but they’re wrong. I know when you think of a “crossfitter” you think of people like Matt, Ron, Rob, Stacey and Brian, kind of like a Porsche , sleek, compact, powerful and fast. I’m more like a minivan, long, slow, not very powerful, and all banged up from lots of kids. But I like a challenge and CFW is full of them. It forces you to set goals and face your weaknesses, something I never did at the regular gym. When you’ve worked hard to conquer a skill and you finally pull it off it’s exhilarating and very rewarding, sometimes you think about it later that day and just smile to yourself. And when you’re working on something and still can’t get it (double unders) only to watch others do it effortlessly it can be pretty maddening, but you don’t give up, that’s why you keep dragging yourself out of bed at 4:30am. And before you know it, you’re having fun getting fit.
The workouts are so varied that you may be Rich Froning today but you know tomorrow you’re Meatloaf again so you can’t get cocky. CFW is unique, I love the early morning peeps, and you get exposure to many different coaches which is huge, because each can give you that little nugget that might get you over the rings for a muscle up or get you a few more pounds on that lift you’ve been fighting. I also appreciate how they run the gym like professionals even though they have full time jobs and families and responsibilities like the rest of us.
So… thanks everyone at CFW for your friendship and hard work. See you there, 5:30am don’t be late!
**Well done, Mike! We love your attitude and dedication to pushing yourself to be the best you can be! You’re an inspiration to our 5:30 am class and to the CFW community!**
